Artistic Photography In Pregnancy - Maternity Photo Shoots

Many women choose to have their pregnancy documented with a studio photo shoot.

I try to capture the beauty of pregnancy on camera, the Mother's joy and expectations. As such, most maternity photos contain little or no movement, just subtle lighting changes to try and capture different moods.

My goal is to try and convey a sense of the sincerity and seriousness that accompanies a major change in a woman's life. I always let the Mother decide how much or little clothing she wants to wear. I make suggestions, but in the end, it is what the Model is comfortable with.

I will be exhibiting at the 125th South Suffolk Show at Ampton Racecourse (near Ingham, Bury St Edmunds, on the A134). Today, I photographed the wedding of Lucy & Nick at Gissing Hall in Norfolk.

It was a lovely wedding and a very enjoyable one to photograph. What started out as perfect lighting conditions at 1.00pm, turned into "challenging" lighting conditions by 3.00pm. It was very much a case of rushing through the romantic Bride and Groom shots and Group photos, as quickly as possible, as I feared the rain would hamper my photography, but the rain held off and I managed to capture the romance, fun and details of the day.

Today, I braved the weather to photograph the East Anglian Air Ambulance helicopter coming into land at the Archbishop Sancroft High School in Harleston. In recognition of the Bullock Fair charity shops in Harleston raising £500,000 since 2004 for the Air Ambulance, a party was held for the staff; as way of a thank you for all their hard work. In reality, they have paid for over 2000 missions!

As well as presenting each member of staff with a gift, one of the Air Ambulance Helicopters flew in to land of the school playing field. Despite the bitterly cold wind, the staff had the chance to view the EX135 P2 Helicopter "up close" and even sit in the cock pit.

Today, I had the pleasure of photographing six year old, Lily and her little sister, three year old, Lily at my Studio in Harleston. (As a present for Grandad). They don't come anymore angelic as these two!!

Also, it was great to see Jenny and Mark, bring their six month old Daughter, Ava to the studio today. I photographed Jenny & Mark's wedding day at Seckford Hall in August 2010. Then in September 2012, I took Jenny's "bump" photos at the studio, and yo and behold, today they are with their Baby Daughter, Ava (6 months). How cute is Ava? There's cure babies, and theirs cute babies, and Ava is one of the cutest!

Today, 2 year old Lexi, one of the Runner's Up in the Diss Express - "Bootiful Babies" competition came into the studio for a Portrait Shoot. We had a few tears, when she bumped her head on my camera, but she was so well behaved:)

Today, little Abel came to the studio with his Mum & Dad for his first photo shoot; at just 12 weeks old. Firstly his very own set of passport photos, ready for his first holiday, and then a set of photos with Mum and also Mum and Dad.

Today, I photographed my first wedding of 2013 - Julie & Kevin's wedding at St. Mary's Church, Diss and before and afterwards at Gissing Hall, Norfolk. You couldn't ask for better weather for a wedding in early February. (At least it didn't rain or snow!). Julie & Kevin were great fun and a pleasure to photograph, as were the guests.

Little Mix @ Manchester O2

Tonight I went to Manchester to meet with Leigh-Anne, Perrie, Jesy and Jade (aka 'Little Mix') - not in a Professional capacity; but so that my Daughter could meet them and get autographs;

before seeing them in concert. Now I've been to some concerts in my time, and over the years seen some of the biggest rock bands in the world, but the sound of 3000 high-pitched screaming grils, was probably the noisiest I have ever experienced.

So it's official, "Little Mixers" are a noisy lot! lol.

Lucy & Nick's Pre-Wedding Photoshoot.

Lucy & Nick, whose wedding I am phootgraphing at Gissing Hall, later this year; came into the studio for a pre-wedding photo shoot today.

It was a great opportunity to get to know Lucy & Nick better and more importantly for them to get to know me a little better!

I am offering Training Workshops at the studio, to indiduals and camera clubs. Workshops can be organised for up to four individuals at a time.

"Studio Lighting Workshop" - for total beginners in studio work, understanding lights and modifiers, how to creat effects, how to pose a subject.

Separate modules are available for Portrait, Fashion, Pin Up, Art Nude - with the first part of the workshop covering lighting basics, and then applying them to the subject. The will be a model and students will be able to use their own cameras and retain their images.

Today saw one of the stangest photo assignments I have undertaken. - There I was in my Photographic Studio in Harleston, photographing Trainers, Towells, Sliced Grapefruits, Dumb Bells, Bar Bells and other fitness equipment - not to mention Emily Orford the creator of 'IN THE PINK FIT' working out, whilst I took loads of "workout" action shots.

The remit was to to take photos for Emily's new website to promote her fitness classes in Harleston, Dickleborough and South Norfolk.
